On your romantic night away you will be greeted by our friendly staff. They will then show you to your Superior Harbour Viea room with a Four Poster bed. Your room will be decorated with petals and a chilled bottle of prosecco Spumante will be awaiting your arrival. Later in the afternoon you will be treated to a luxurious full afternoon tea with a glass of champagne. Then you can enjoy a three course evening meal in our restaurant in its beautiful setting looking out over the harbour. If desired a romantic walk around the lit up harbour or a film in our cinema room. After your perfect night you will be served breakfast in bed and the luxury of a checkout at 2pm

Miller’s Christmas at the Anchor 2013

Christmas Eve

Chandeliers and candles glimmer everywhere and a roaring fire flickers at every angle. Arrive throughout the afternoon, then relax and enjoy afternoon tea and homemade cakes served by the fire. Join us for a relaxed champagne reception in the drawing room prior to our Christmas Eve feast, served throughout the evening. Any guest who would like to attend midnight mass at Porlock Church will be transferred, picked up and returned to a cosy fire to enjoy a hot toddy of spicy Miller’s mulled wine.

Christmas Day

Wake up to a full Traditional English breakfast before an optional trip to the Porlock Church Christmas service, or alternatively enjoy a bracing Christmas stroll, wandering around Porlock bay or the delightful paths around the Hotel.

Miller’s Traditional festive luncheon will be served and later a visit from Father Christmas himself to bestow us all with Christmas tree gifts.

Please feel free to unwind in our library and enjoy a good Christmas read from our towering pile of books, or perhaps an afternoon game of scrabble or chess. The Billiards room is always open as is the cinema room, or a bit of fresh air might be needed at this point prior to the evening’s indulgence, from our celebration cold buffet supper and music.

Boxing Day

An informal Boxing Day brunch will be available from 10.00am until 12noon.
Any outside activities or Boxing Day can be arranged by our front of house team (please check the website for outdoor pursuits). We can inform you of a wealth of interesting destinations nearby. Dunster Castle is under 30 minutes away, a fantastic Boxing Day out.
